PROJECT DESCRIPTION- a new identity for an campus begins with a set of reclaimed wood furnishings. Completed and currently being installed in temporary locations this is the first step in a campus transformation that moves to focus on health, ecology, and sustainability. The completed work was fabricated by Minka Studio including stools, chairs, benches, tables, and art completed with an budget of 1 million dollars, a true testament to value placement. Dead or dying campus redwood trees were harvested, shipped to a local sawmill and then brought to Minka Studio where the designs were tweaked with longevity in mind, an artful acceptance of the wood and all the pieces unique qualities and fabricated (http://www.minkastudio.com/)
