PROJECT DESCRIPTION- a new park at the foot of Toronto's cultural nexus, John St., and the new Art Gallery of Ontario extension by Frank Gehry. Through data collection and review of time lapse film the park's transformation is distilled through movement and usage pattern into a space capable of harnessing that public energy (http://grangeparktoronto.ca/). After our studio engaged with the public as facilitators for a dialogue about the future of Grange park the community selected my design as the basis for the strategy moving forward. Though it has been a long time in the making and it is now in professional hands it is nice to see that my initial thoughts and instincts as a student have guided the community to a completed project nearly 8 years on, and that a fitting cultural space will connect the broader community in a meaningful and lasting way.
